Our first married Easter!

We are settling in here nicely. After two weeks of getting organized in the house, we’re finally ready to get out and enjoy our new neighborhood. :-)  So, we are going to brunch at Kaleidoscope tomorrow…perfect for Easter brunch.

And, we’ve decided to get back to enjoying Meatless Mondays, and this week we’ll be trying this recipe for the first time: pasta with fresh tomato sauce. I have a feeling this will become a new staple for us…can’t wait to try it.

We’ll let you know how it turns out!

Welcome home!

We are moving back to (for me) Brookhaven! Moving day is coming up very soon and most of the house is packed.

We are super excited about so many things about this house; namely, getting back over to Buckhead/Brookhaven (as so much of our life is there now and we just love that part of town), a beautiful custom kitchen, new chocolate hardwood floors, a finished basement which is the entire footprint of the house, an extra bathroom, a laundry/utility room, a great fenced yard for Shiloh + Lily…and it’s even within walking distance of three of our favorite restaurants!

We bought our new washer + dryer today…really, the only thing left to do is finish packing. Less than a week to moving day and counting! :-)

Our 10 favorite ATL gluten-free friendly restaurants | 2011

Inspired by Todd’s post about one of our favs, P.F. Chang’s as well as my previous post listing our “target” restaurants for 2012, I thought I’d post our favorite GF-friendly local restaurants of 2011.

These are listed in no particular order.

  1. Kaleidoscope Bistro + Pub (Brookhaven)
  2. Yeah! Burger (both Virginia-Highlands + Howell Mill)
  3. Verde Taqueria (Brookhaven)
  4. The Original El Taco (Virginia Highlands)
  5. P.F. Chang’s (Perimeter)
  6. Leon’s Full Service (Decatur)
  7. Uncle Maddio’s Pizza (North Druid Hills)
  8. Osteria del FIGO (Howell Mill)
  9. Nava (Buckhead)
  10. Noche’ (both Virginia-Highlands + Brookhaven)

*If there were a #11 it would be Ted’s Montana Grill! We love their downtown Decatur location which will always be special to us because that’s where we had one of our more memorable dates early-on, and it’s where we all went for dinner the first night I met Todd’s parents. :)

Brunch with Shiloh

Two weekends ago we had several friends and their pups over to our house for a playdate in the back yard. Once they’d worn themselves out we all went to brunch at Kaleidoscope (where Todd recently took me for my birthday dinner…it’s our new neighborhood favorite!).  As you can see in the background above, Shiloh stole the show…
